Trend and Analysis

The Health Department is committed to targeting the common risk factors that contribute to the development of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease.  The agency’s strategies for the prevention and management of chronic diseases supports programming to promote healthy behaviors, early detection and diagnosis of metabolic syndrome,  community-specific outreach and education activities and chronic disease self-management.  Anticipated changes for FY 2019 include the addition of two staff that will enable the agency to reach 20% more residents through health promotion activities and 15% more through direct program interventions.
