Prince George's County Executive Rushern L. Baker III launched a new a campaign on March 30, 2017, to combat litter in Prince George's County.
With an additional $2 million investment for countywide litter pick up, the campaign will be led by the Department of Public Works and Transportation with support from other key county agencies ranging from public safety to the public schools to help remove remove litter County roadways and streets.

Lend A Hand
The Prince George's County Department of the Environment's Litter Reduction Program seeks to establish partnerships with individuals, non-profits, and municipalities and develop programs that will increase the tonnage of litter captured, removed and prevented in communities and waterways in Prince George’s County.

Also, sign up for LitterTRAK, to log where you pick up trash and see where others are helping the cause. Information submitted through LitterTRAK including bags of litter removed, items collected and litter pick-up locations will assist DoE meet their trash reduction rate within the Anacostia River Watershed. The app is available by registration through the LitterTRAK User Sign Up Form.
Litter costs Prince George's County millions of dollars a year, decreases property values, has a negative impact on the health and wellness, and threatens wildlife, reservoirs and waterways. Reducing litter is critical to improving the economic, environmental and social health of Prince George's County. So Prince George's County has developed the dashboard to help residents track how the well the initiative is working.
